a festive watercolour collection for cards and quiet creative time

Christmas painting tutorials you can use for handmade cards or a calm moment to yourself
A festive collection from the patreon archives
With the holiday season approaching, I’ve created a Christmas-themed collection on Patreon, bringing together some of my favourite festive tutorials from the archives.
This collection includes 10 carefully chosen lessons, a mix of video tutorials and step-by-step guides, all centred around winter and Christmas subjects.
They’re designed to be flexible — something you can dip into depending on how much time, energy, or headspace you have.
Paint your own handmade christmas cards
Several of the lessons in this collection are wonderfully quick and achievable, making them perfect for creating handmade Christmas cards.
If you enjoy giving something personal — a small piece of original art rather than something shop-bought — these projects are ideal. They’re simple enough to repeat, yet expressive enough that each card still feels unique.
You can paint a small batch in an afternoon and have cards ready for everyone you love.
Or take a quiet moment for yourself
Not all of the lessons are quick sketches.
Some are a little more detailed and slower, designed for those moments when you want to step away from the noise of the season. They’re perfect for:
a quiet evening with a cup of tea
a calm “me time” painting session
a cosy art date with a friend or family member
There’s no rush with these — just time to enjoy the process, the paint, and the subject.
How this collection can be used
This festive collection works in a few different ways:
as a resource for handmade Christmas cards
as gentle creative prompts during a busy season
as a way to revisit favourite winter subjects without planning from scratch
You don’t need to complete every lesson. You can simply choose what fits your mood and schedule.
A calm, creative way to approach the holidays
The holidays can be joyful, but they can also be full and demanding. This collection is intended to offer an alternative — a slower, more mindful way to engage with the season through painting.
Whether you use the lessons to create something for others, or keep the time entirely for yourself, they’re there to support a calm and creative December.
Ready to paint?
If you’re a Patreon member, you’ll find the full festive collection ready and waiting for you.
